Is God's Phone Line Active? Teaching Kids to Hear God

Prayer is a ConversationDuring our recent Academy lessons, we shared a key illustration: God's "phone number" is Jeremiah 33:3 ("Call to me and I will answer you..."). But many children grow up thinking that calling God means speaking a long list of requests, and then hanging up the phone immediately.We need to teach them that prayer is a two-way conversation. That means dial, talk, and then—importantly—listen.Here are three practical ways to help your child hear God:

1. Quiet the Noise

We live in a loud world. Create a specific time (even just 2 minutes) where you turn off devices and sit in quietness. Tell them: "Let's listen for God's quiet whisper in our hearts."#### 2. Teach them the Nature of God's Voice God rarely shouts. He speaks in promptings, scriptures, and gentle thoughts. Teach your child that God's voice will always:

• Encourage them to do good and speak truth
• Bring peace and calm, not panic or fear
• Line up perfectly with the Bible#### 3. Keep a Prayer Journal Encourage your kids to write down what they ask God, and then write down any thoughts, scriptures, or impressions they receive. Over time, they will see a beautiful record of how God answers them.By teaching them to listen, we make faith personal and alive for them!
